This privacy policy applies to the Expiry Alert mobile application (herein referred to as "Application") for Android devices. This app is designed to help you track expiry dates for pantry items and medications.

        Executive Summary: We believe in privacy by design. Your product data, expiry dates, and photos are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
    

1. Data Collection and Use

The Application collects and uses information strictly to provide its core functionality:

Local Storage: All item names, barcodes, and expiry dates you enter are stored locally on your device using a secure database.
Product Photos: Photos you take of your products are stored in your app's private directory. We do not have access to these photos outside of the Application.
Camera Access: The Application requires camera access specifically for scanning barcodes and taking product photos.

2. Third-Party Services

To support the development and maintenance of the Application, we use the following third-party services which may collect information used to identify you:

Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
Google Play Services: Used for Application updates and basic analytics.

3. Permissions

The Application requests the following mandatory permissions:

Camera: For barcode scanning and product photography.
Notifications: To send you alerts 3 days before an item expires (and subsequent reminders).
Internet: To load advertisements and check for Application updates.

4. Data Retention

Since your data is stored locally, it remains on your device until you delete an item or uninstall the Application. Once uninstalled, all local data and captured photos are permanently removed.

5. Security

We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable.

6. Children�s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
