Privacy Guard is a privacy tool designed to monitor and alert you when other applications on your device access sensitive hardware sensors like the Camera and Microphone. Transparency is our core value, and we believe your data belongs to you.

2. Data Collection & Usage

We do not collect, transmit, or share any personal data from your device.

• Sensor Monitoring: The app monitors system-level events to detect when the Camera or Microphone is active. We do not record audio, capture images, or save any content from these sensors.
• Access Logs: We generate a history of sensor access events (App Name, Package ID, Time, and Duration). This data is stored exclusively on your device and is never uploaded to any servers.
• Foreground App Identification: We use system statistics to identify which app is currently in use when a sensor is triggered. This information is processed locally and never leaves your device.

3. Permissions Explained

To provide monitoring services, Privacy Guard requires the following permissions:

• Camera & Microphone: Required by the Android system to allow our background service to detect when these sensors are being used by other apps. We never use these for recording.
• Usage Stats: Used to identify which app is currently in the foreground when a privacy event occurs.
• Display Overlays: Used to show the real-time visual indicator on your screen.
• Notifications: Used to maintain the monitoring service in the background and send you alerts.

4. Data Storage

All logs and settings are stored locally on your device using Android's secure internal storage. You can clear your access history at any time using the "Clear Logs" button within the app.

5. Third-Party Services

The app does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics, or advertising frameworks that collect your personal information.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
